Welcome.

Thank you for visiting my website. If you are seeking emotional support, understanding and change, I am here to help.

Jennifer Flores, M.Ed., M.S., LMFT, is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, MFC 92351.

Jennifer provides therapy services to couples, individual adults, teens and families in Burbank, California and the surrounding areas of Toluca Lake, Studio City, Sherman Oaks, North Hollywood, Glendale, and greater Los Angeles.

Therapy services for couples include identifying and repairing problematic relationship patterns, communication issues, recovery from betrayal, co-parenting during separation and divorce, restoring or creating increased understanding, connection and intimacy, and navigating the complexity of re-marriage and blended families. Jennifer has specialized training in PACT (Psychobiological Approach to Couple Therapy), an integration of neuroscience, arousal regulation and attachment theory, created by Stan Tatkin. She is aslo certified in PREPARE/ENRICH, a strengths-based program for couples, often used as a tool in pre-marital counseling. Couples counseling can provide new insights on what each partner brings to their current relationship pattern and feelings of increased security and trust to engage in new ways of relating.

Therapy services for adults and teens include treatment of mood and anxiety disorders, management of life transitions and stress, grief and loss, and frustration with unsatisfying relationships. Sometimes people come to therapy because they experience feelings of pain, fear, being “stuck” or uninspired in life and need a place to sort through what is happening. The therapeutic process will be active and collaborative. Jennifer works to create an open, comfortable, and challenging environment where clients can think, reflect and share their experiences, and gradually move towards greater self-understanding, healing, and healthy agency. Therapy can provide increased self-awareness as you are seen and understood through the eyes of another, and can give increased coping skills to better handle life stressors and relationships.

Jennifer has experience working with children and their families using play therapy and views treatment from an attachment, developmental neurobiological lens. All child and teen therapy work will include parent and family consultations to collaborate on the therapeutic process. Jennifer has conducted parent and caregiver trainings based on Drs. Dan Siegel and Tina Bryson’s The Whole-Brain Child, and enjoys working with parents to navigate parenting issues.

Jennifer also has training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), a powerful treatment for people who suffer from symptoms of trauma, anxiety, panic and disturbing memories.
